Booking Terms and Conditions

1. 50% of your voyage fee is payable at the time of your booking application, non refundable should you cancel your voyage. The balance is payable on the day you arrive on board. If for any reason we are unable to accept your booking application all voyage fees will be refunded in full.

2. We will hold verbal bookings for 7 days pending receipt of completed booking form and 50% of the voyage fee.

3. A completed booking form must be received and approved by the sailing school before you can sail on ALIZE. Please do not book flights or make travel arrangements until your booking has been confirmed.

4. The price paid does not include travel insurance. It is your responsibility to insure yourself properly.

5. Travel insurance suitable for a sailing holiday is recommended.

6. Alize sailing school will make every effort not to change anything advertised, however reasons beyond our control can arise, such as adverse weather conditions, mechanical failure etc: Whilst we always make every effort to provide everything advertised it cannot be guaranteed.

7, If the sailing school has to cancel prior to your start date, you will first be offered a new date, if this is not acceptable a refund will be made.

Safety on Board

8. The safety of the crew and vessel is paramount; the skipper’s decision is final. Guests accept that sailing can be a dangerous activity.

9. Alize sailing school is not responsible for guests whilst ashore.

10. Alcohol is only consumed at the discretion of the skipper.

11. No unlawful drugs or goods of any kind are to be brought on board including animals.

12. Alize sailing school reserves the right to put ashore at the first opportunity any guest considered by the skipper to be disruptive or to be behaving in a manner as to be a risk to himself or herself or the rest of the crew or vessel.

Health and Fitness

13. It is a condition that you have an adequate level of health and fitness to participate in the activity of sailing. You must declare at the time of booking any health or fitness issues, bearing in mind that you will be on a vessel at sea that can move violently and be more than 24 hours away from expert medical attention. Failure to disclose relevant information could forfeit your berth, even at short notice.

14. It is your responsibility to inform the sailing school of any change to your health or fitness that arises between the time of booking and sailing.

15. You must inform the skipper of any medication you will be taking during the voyage. If you are being treated with prescribed drugs please ensure you are carrying the correct medication and dosage for the duration of the voyage. You must consult your doctor about any problems that may arise concerning seasickness and the suitability of your medication or drugs.

16. It is recommended that you bring a seasickness remedy that is suitable; consult a pharmacy or doctor as to type and quantity.

17. You must tell us about any dietary requirements you may have at the time of booking.

Everything Else

18. Guests under the age of 18 must have the written consent of parents or guardians.

19. The sailing school does not accept any responsibility for loss or damage to personal affects. Take out insurance to cover such items if you are concerned.

20. Smokers must smoke on deck.

21. It is customary for guests to be involved in the running of the ship, such as cooking cleaning up etc:

22. Your personal details will not be passed on to anyone else.

23. Alize sailing school reserves the right to change its terms and conditions without notice.
